About Me
I used to have a full overblown bio when I launched my zine some years ago. You can find it here if you’re interested.
The short version is that I’ve done a lot of work in music media, largely in radio and print. Being one of the original editors of the !earshot chart you can find at the back of Exclaim is probably the most recognizable thing I’ve done for most of you, and have also written for Chart, Monday, the Georgia Straight and some others I can’t remember off the top of my head.
These days, I manage web sites for an international environmental organization, far away from the music industry. Before that I worked managing websites in the health care association sector. I’ve won a couple of awards that, if nothing else, was a bit of validation that I don’t suck at my job.
Lately, I’ve been more interested in the social aspects of the Internet, how people present themselves in their online personas, how people`s lives are changing as a result of online communications. Basically, I`m interested in the human side of the Internet. I’ve never been a big computer or gadget guy; to me, the most interesting part of working on the Web is watching how it transforms our lives. Technology is the tool that facilitates this; it’s not an end in itself. You’ll probably see more writing about that on this site as time goes on.
