Down the drain

After a week of tearing apart both my apartment and cubicle at work, I have come to the conclusion that I have lost my notebook. Some that know me have probably seen me carrying it or one like it around. I’ve carried one ever since high school and I use it to make notes from books I read, write to-do lists for myself and other general scribbling. I started using this one in January after the last one got filled up. It had 40-50 pages of research and project notes for something I’ve been working on at the office as well as the rough draft of a short story I’ve been writing, among many other things. I figure I lost it a couple of weeks ago when I threw a bunch of old magazines into the recycling and my notebook must have got caught in the pile.

A year’s worth of writing, gone like that. Poof.

Unrelated:

  • I’ve been listening to Over the James by Avail a lot lately. It sounds like . . . springtime. Until I downloaded it from e-music, it had been at least 6 years since I last heard it and I love it all over again. My current favorite track is “Cross Tie”.
  • Wiz from Mega City Four and the Doughboys died from a blood clot yesterday. He was 44.
