While a list like this is obviously subjective, there are some entries and ommissions that make me wonder if the Kerrang’s editors even understand punk.
If you want to talk influence, nothing by Jawbreaker, DOA, Subhumans (UK) or Screeching Weasel made the list while Americana by the Offspring did. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Offspring, but the record that has “Pretty Fly for a White Guy” is one of the top punk rock records ever?
As far as the two choices for NOFX, Punk in Drublic and So Long and Thanks For All The Shoes, I would argue that while those are two fine albums, NOFX’s most definitive statement was White Trash, Two Heebs and a Bean. I mean, it has “Liza and Louise”, “Bob”, “Soul Doubt”, “Please Play This Song on the Radio”, and “Stickin In My Eye”, on it, classics all.
It seems like this list is simply some dude’s iPod playlist.
But at least Good Charlotte isn’t listed here.
